Overview - Sound System, Advanced Sound System (8RF), From My 2021
The Advanced Sound System consists of the following components:
- Two speakers in the left and right A-pillars
- Two speakers in the left and right front doors, RX2/RX3
- One retractable speaker on the left and right side of the instrument panel
- Two speakers in the center of the instrument panel
- One speaker in the left and right B-pillars
- Two speakers in the left and right rear doors, RX15/RX16
- Two speakers on the left and right sides of the rear roof, RX17/RX18
- Subwoofer -R211- in the luggage compartment
- Digital Sound System Control Module -J525- in the luggage compartment or behind the left rear bench seat on the crossmember
- Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794- behind the glove compartment
- Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794- behind the Glove Compartment
- Interior Microphone -R74- in Front Roof Module -WX3-
- Left Front Midrange Speaker 2 -R276- at the Top of the Left A-Pillar (at Height of the Exterior Rearview Mirror)

Fault Finding is performed using the"Guided Fault Finding" on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
Notes on MOST Bus
The optical data Bus "MOST Bus" is used in addition to the CAN Bus.
A fiber-optic cable is used. Fiber optic cables are routed inside corrugated tubes for protection.
Replace the complete fiber-optic cable if possible.
The front surface of the connectors must not be contaminated.
If the connectors are disconnected: connect the Fiber-Optic Repair Set - Connector Protective Caps :VAS6223/9 from the Fiber-Optic Repair Set :VAS6223A .
When routing fiber-optic cables, make sure not to go below the minimum bending radius of 25 mm. Do not crush or kink fiber optic cables.
