Panorama Sliding Sunroof Water Drains: Checking
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Measuring container
- Lint-free cloths
- Industrial vacuum cleaner
Procedure to Check the Water Drain for Debris:
Glass panel opened all the way.
-- Extract visible contamination in the area of the guide rails with an industrial vacuum cleaner or clean with a lint-free cloth.
-- Slowly pour 0.5L water per side in the guide rail near the open glass cover -arrow- using a measuring container -1-. Work carefully so that water does not flow into the dry area. Pay attention that the water divides in both direction so that both the front and the rear water drains can be checked.
-- Check on the vehicle underbody that water flows out in the area of the front as well as the rear wheel housing.
-- Repeat the procedure on the other side of the vehicle.
-- If no water or only a small amount of water flows out of the corresponding locations, clean the water drains. Refer to the appropriate Service Information .
Pour the quantity of water carefully on each side in the guide rail. If the water drain is blocked water can flow into the vehicle interior (passenger compartment)!
The water quantity per side must quickly (within a minute) flow in the front and rear water drains in the area of the wheel housings.
