Upper Timing Chain Cover, Removing And Installing: Removing

Preliminary work may be required depending on the model. Refer to TIMING CHAIN COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the camshaft adjustment valves. Refer to Cam Adjustment Valve 1 -N205- /Exhaust Cam Adjustment Valve 1 -N318-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Version with particulate filter: remove the connector -2- for the Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 3 -G495- from the bracket and disconnect.

-- Free up the wires.

-- Remove the bolts -1 and 2- and pivot the left coolant pipe upward.

-- Unclip the oil dipstick tube -1- on the upper timing chain cover in direction of -arrow- and remove from the lower timing chain cover.

-- Remove the bolts -1 through 6- and the upper timing chain cover.
