Air Duct Pipe, Removing And Installing: Removing

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Bit Torx T30:T10573 
• Long Reach Special Wrench:T40398  , not illustrated

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the lock carrier cover. Refer to OVERVIEW - BUMPER COVER .

-- Remove the end panel. Refer to OVERVIEW - BUMPER COVER .

-- Remove the right and left air intake grille. Refer to OVERVIEW - BUMPER COVER .

-- Disconnect the air duct -1- near the pass-through for the refrigerant lines with a diagonal cutter -arrows-.

-- Release the catches -arrow- and remove the air ducts -1 and 3-.

-- Free up the wiring harness -3-.

-- Remove the screws -arrows-.

-- Remove the connection and hose -1- for the crankcase ventilation to do so press the release buttons on both sides.

-- Move the connection to the side.

-- Disconnect the connector -1-.

-- Pry up the clamp -4- and remove the coolant line.

-- Remove the bolts -2 and 3-.

-- Release the catch -arrow- and tie up the coolant expansion tank to the left side.

-- Disconnect the connector -3- for the Charge Air Pressure Sensor -G31-.

-- Free up the coolant ventilation line -2-.

-- Loosen the hose clamp -1- and remove the air duct pipe and tie up to the left side.

-- Release the catches -arrows- and remove the air duct -2-.

-- Release the left and right catches -arrows- and remove the retaining pin -1- for the radiator upward.

-- Push the radiator on the top slightly forward and secure it with for example with a plastic wedge so it does not tilt back.

-- Press the release buttons on both sides and disconnect the EVAP system hose -arrow-.

-- Free up the wiring harness.

-- Remove the screws -arrows-.

-- Remove the crankcase ventilation hose -1- by pressing the release buttons on both sides.

-- If necessary, disconnect the connector -2- for the Recirculation Valve, Bank 1 -N625-.

-- Free up the wiring harness -arrows- and the clips -1- from the oil dipstick tube.

-- Pull the wiring duct -3- off the ball pin and free up.

-- Disconnect the connectors -4 and 5- and free up the wiring harness -2-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-, use the : T40398  if necessary.

-- Remove the vacuum hose -6- and hose -3- for the crankcase ventilation to do so press the release buttons on both sides.

-- Remove the upper air duct pipe -1- from the intake manifold, push to the right -arrow A- and at the same time pivot to the right -arrow B- upward and remove. To do so push the coolant hose on the left cylinder head to the side and guide out the upper air duct pipe on the wiring harness.
