Crankshaft Seal, Replacing, Belt Pulley Side

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Puller - Crankshaft Seal:T40019 
• Assembly Tool:T40320 

Procedure 

-- Remove the vibration damper. Refer to VIBRATION DAMPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Position the inner part of the :T40019  flush with outer part and secure it with the knurled screw.

-- Lubricate the threaded head on the camshaft seal puller position it and install it as far as possible into the seal using force.

-- Loosen knurled thumb screw and turn inner portion against crankshaft until the seal is pulled out.

-- Secure the seal puller in a vise at the flat spots and remove the seal using pliers.

-- Clean the contact and sealing surface.

-- Mount the :T40320/2  onto the crankshaft and push the seal -1- into the belt pulley side sealing flange.

• The open side of seal faces the engine.
• Leave the :T40320/2  on the crankshaft for pressing in.

-- Position the :T40320/1  with the bolt -1- for the vibration damper on the crankshaft.

-- Press the seal -2- in all the way.

Further installation is performed in reverse order of removal, while noting the following:

-- Install the vibration damper. Refer to VIBRATION DAMPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
