Cylinder Bank 1 (Right) Camshaft Housing, Removing And Installing: Removing
Depending on the model, preliminary work may be required. Refer to CAMSHAFT HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the high pressure pump. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove camshaft timing chain from camshafts. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN, REMOVING FROM CAMSHAFTS .
-- Remove the fuel injectors. Refer to FUEL INJECTORS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
2.9L Engine:
-- Disconnect the connectors:
- For After-Run Coolant Pump -V51-
- For EVAP Canister Purge Regulator Valve 1 -N80-
- For Tank Ventilation Pressure Sensor 1 -G950-
- For Engine Cover Temperature Sensor -G765-
- For the Recirculation Valve, Bank 1 -N625-
- For the Mechanical Coolant Pump Switch Valve -N649-
- For the Camshaft Position Sensor 3 -G300-
- For Wastegate Bypass Regulator Valve -N75-
-- Free up the wiring harness and push to the side.
-- Remove the EVAP Canister Purge Regulator Valve 1 -N80- from the bracket and push it to the side.
3.0L Engine:
-- Disconnect the connectors:
- For After-Run Coolant Pump -V51-
- For EVAP Canister Purge Regulator Valve 1 -N80-
- For Tank Ventilation Pressure Sensor 1 -G950-
- For Engine Cover Temperature Sensor -G765-
- For Recirculation Valve, Bank 1 -N625-
- For Mechanical Coolant Pump Switch Valve -N649-
- For Camshaft Position Sensor 3 -G300-
- For Wastegate Bypass Regulator Valve -N75-
-- Free up the wiring harness and push to the side.
-- Remove the EVAP Canister Purge Regulator Valve 1 -N80- from the bracket and push it to the side.
Continuation for All:
-- Remove the nuts -arrows- and the bracket -1- for the solenoid valves.
-- Remove the noise insulation lower section.
-- Loosen and remove the camshaft housing bolts in the sequence -20 to 1-.
-- To loosen the camshaft housing -1- install two M6 x 30 bolts -arrows- all the way.
-- Install the bolts alternating from side to side 1 /2 turn respectively until the camshaft housing is loosened.
-- Remove the bolts and the camshaft housing.
Risk of destroying the engine by small parts inadvertently entering with the camshaft housing removed.
- Cover the cylinder head with a clean cloth.
