Outer Rear Seat Backrest, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the bench seat. Refer to BENCH SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Right rear seat backrest: remove the rear center belt end fitting. Refer to REAR SEAT BELT ANCHOR IN CENTER SEATING POSITION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

CAUTION:

There is a risk of malfunctions.

When removing and installing the release cable, do not under any circumstances remove the idler roller -1- from the coupling housing.

-- Open the coupling housing cover.

-- Disengage the release cable support bracket -3- from the mount on the coupling housing in direction of -arrow-.

-- Disengage the release cable nipple -2- from the idler roller -1-.

-- Remove the front luggage compartment floor. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Fold the rear seat backrests forward.

-- Push the center bearing cover -1- with a small screwdriver out of the retainer in direction of -arrow A-.

-- Tilt the center bearing cover toward the rear and disengage at the hook -arrow B-.

-- Fold the rear seat backrests forward.

-- Remove the bolt -1-.

-- Tilt the securing bracket -2- forward and disengage downward from the center bearing -arrow- at the same time.

-- Fold the rear seat backrest -1- slightly forward.

-- Remove the rear seat backrest from the center support -2-.

-- Remove the rear seat backrest from the outer bearing toward the center of the vehicle in direction of -arrow-.

-- Remove the backrest from the vehicle.
