Brake Pads, Removing And Installing, Brakes 1LG And 1LH: Removing

-- Free up the wire for the brake pad wear indicator sensor contact -1-, to do so open the protective cap -3- and disengage the wire from the brake caliper -arrows-.

When removing the brake pad pin, make sure that the brake caliper coating is not damaged.

-- Use a drift punch to push the brake pad pins -1 and 2- from the outside toward the inside and out of the brake caliper.

Pay attention to the paint coating on the brake caliper.

-- Remove the brake caliper. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, BRAKES 1LG, 1LH, 1LL, 1ZA, 1ZC, 1ZK, 1LI, 1ZD .

CAUTION:

Do not damage or bend the brake lines past their given shape.

A damaged or bent brake line must be replaced.

NOTE:

Do not change the shape of the brake pad spring and brake pad retaining plate.

Damaged brake pad springs and brake pad retaining plates must be replaced.
