Brake Pedal, Disconnecting From Brake Booster

-- Remove the Brake Lamp Switch -F-.

NOTE:

If possible, leave the brake pedal stop -17- installed; it could break the mount for the brake lamp switch -10- if the brake pedal is released too quickly.

-- First move the brake pedal toward the brake booster and the hold it in this position.

1 - Brake Pedal

2 - Push Rod

3 - Retaining Tabs

-- Insert the :T40136 and pull in the direction of the driver seat as illustrated. When doing this, counter-hold at the brake pedal (the pedal must not be allowed to move backward at this time). The mount retaining tabs -3- will thereby be pressed off the ball head of the push rod -2-.

For ease of illustration separating the brake pedal from the brake booster is shown with the pedal assembly removed.

-- Pull the :T40136 and brake pedal together toward the driver seat. (This will pull the brake pedal off of the pushrod ball head).
