Overview - Front Brake Caliper, Brakes 1LA, 1LJ, 1ZB And 1ZT

When servicing, always install entire repair kit.

Bolt
- 30 Nm
  NOTE:
  Clean the bolts and nuts before reusing.
  
  Replace the damaged bolts and nuts. Refer to the Parts Information.
  
  Replace the self-locking bolts and nuts. Refer to the Parts Information.

Protective Cap
- Insert in brake caliper
- Refer to PROTECTIVE CAP AND GUIDE PINS, REPLACING

Guide Pin
- Slide through the boot
- Refer to PROTECTIVE CAP AND GUIDE PINS, REPLACING

Protective Cap
- Install on the bleeder valve.

Bleeder Valve
- Before installing, lightly lubricate thread with assembly paste. Refer to Parts Information.
  NOTE:
  Bleed the hydraulic system at "all" brake caliper bleed screws.
  
  Bleed the brake caliper with two bleed screws first on the outside and then on the inside of the brake caliper.

- ensure installation position is correct.

Protective Cap
- Do not damage when inserting the piston

Piston
- Coat with a thin layer of lithium grease. Refer to Parts Information

Brake Carrier
- Removing and Installing
- The 4 retaining pins for the brake pads on the brake carrier must not be loosened under any circumstances.

Bolt
- 196 Nm

  Replace the damaged bolts and nuts. Refer to the Parts Information.
  
  Replace the self-locking bolts and nuts. Refer to the Parts Information.
