Overview - Fuel Delivery Unit/Fuel Level Sensor, All TDI Vehicles

- Connector
- For Fuel Pump Control Module -J538-
- Make sure it is attached securely
- Fuel Pump Control Module -J538-
- Check using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
- Component location: right under the rear sill panel
- Removing and Installing. Refer to Fuel Pump Control Module -J538-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Fuel Supply Line
- To the fuel filter
- Clipped to the fuel tank
- Do not kink
- Connector Couplings, Disconnecting and Connecting. Refer to CONNECTOR COUPLINGS, DISCONNECTING .
- Fuel Line to Parking Heater Metering Pump
- Country/Rest of World equipment versions
- Clipped to the fuel tank
- Do not kink
- Connector Couplings, Disconnecting and Connecting. Refer to CONNECTOR COUPLINGS, DISCONNECTING .
- Wiring Harness
- To the parking heater metering pump
- Country/Rest of World equipment versions
- Secured with cable tie on the fuel line to the metering pump
- Make sure it is attached securely
- Fuel Return Line
- From the engine
- Clipped to the fuel tank
- Do not kink
- Connector Couplings, Disconnecting and Connecting. Refer to CONNECTOR COUPLINGS, DISCONNECTING .
- Wiring Harness
- For Transfer Fuel Pump -G6-, Fuel Level Sensor -G- and Fuel Level Sensor 2 -G169-
- Make sure it is attached securely
- Locking Ring
- Loosen and tighten using the Wrench - Fuel Sending Unit:T10202
- 110 Nm
- Seal
- Replace after removing.
- Install dry
- Connector
- For the Fuel Level Sensor 2 -G169- in the secondary chamber
- Make sure it is attached securely
- Suction Jet Line
- To the suction jet pump in the secondary chamber
- Connector Couplings, Disconnecting and Connecting. Refer to CONNECTOR COUPLINGS, DISCONNECTING .
- Fuel Delivery Unit -GX1-
- With the Transfer Fuel Pump -G6-
- Check the fuel pump electronically using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
- Removing and Installing. Refer to FUEL DELIVERY UNIT/FUEL LEVEL SENSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, TDI VEHICLES .
- After replacing, reset the adaptation values using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
- Connector Couplings, Disconnecting and Connecting. Refer to CONNECTOR COUPLINGS, DISCONNECTING .
- It must be ensured that at least five liters of fuel are in the fuel tank after installation.
- Fuel Level Sensor
- Fuel Level Sensor -G-, Removing and Installing. Refer to Fuel Level Sensor -G-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .NOTE:
The Fuel Level Sensor 2 -G169- is integrated in the fuel tank and cannot be replaced separately.
