-- Remove the A-pillar upper trim panels. Refer to UPPER A-PILLAR TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Detach the B-pillar upper trim panels (refer to B-PILLAR UPPER TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING ) and move to the side with the seat belt webbing.

-- Remove the right luggage compartment side trim panel. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the C-pillar trim panels. Refer to C-PILLAR TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the D-pillar trim panels. Refer to D-PILLAR TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the front roof module. Refer to FRONT INTERIOR LAMP/READING LAMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the sun visors. Refer to SUN VISOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Equipped on some models: remove the front camera cover. Refer to Interior Rearview Mirror with Optional Equipment: .

-- If installed, remove the vanity mirror illumination. Refer to DRIVER/PASSENGER VANITY MIRROR LAMP -W20- / -W14-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the roof grab handle. Refer to ROOF GRAB HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Versions Equipped with a Sliding Sunroof:

-- Open the sun shade.

-- To avoid dirtying the headliner, clean the :T40233 .

-- Push the :T40233 between the frame -1- for the sliding sunroof and the headliner.

-- Using the :T40233 , loosen the headliner all the way around the frame for the sliding sunroof -arrows-.

Continuation for All Vehicles:

-- Move the front seats into the deepest and most forward position and position the backrest as far toward the front as it will go.

-- Low rear seat: fold the rear seat backrests forward.

-- Remove the sun visor center support. Refer to SUN VISOR CENTER SUPPORT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Free up in the headliner in the area of the inner door seals.

-- Unclip the headliner -1- with the trim -2- and bracket from the screen separator mounting eye -arrow-.

-- Repeat the process on the opposite side.

-- Place the front headliner on the seats.

-- Free up the headliner -1- in the rear lid seal area -2-.

CAUTION:

The headliner bends easily.
Replace the headliner if it is bent.

-- Use the :80-200 to unclip the back of the headliner at the clips in the center of the body -arrow A-.

-- Unclip the side of the headliner at the clips from the body -B arrows-.

-- Carefully pull the headliner -1- toward the rear and lower on the right side of the vehicle.

-- To do this carefully guide the headliner at the edges through the rear lid opening.
