A/C Compressor, Condenser And Inner Heat EXCHANGER

1. A/C Compressor Regulator Valve -N280-
   • Different versions depending on A/C compressor
   • Checking using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester A/C COMPRESSOR REGULATOR VALVE -N280-, CHECKING SWITCH-ON SIGNAL .
     NOTE:

     Certain malfunctions at the A/C Compressor Regulator Valve -N280- (for example, a stuck valve or a short circuit in the coil) can lead to a complaint regarding the A/C compressor (A/C system is not cooling, the evaporator ices over, etc.). If the A/C Compressor Regulator Valve -N280- (and not the A/C compressor itself) is the cause, the A/C compressor can be serviced by replacing the A/C Compressor Regulator Valve -N280-. Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR REGULATOR VALVE -N280-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING AND REPLACING / REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT COMPONENTS, REPLACING [R134a] or REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT COMPONENTS, REPLACING [R1234yf] .

     The A/C Compressor Regulator Valve -N280- is not available as a replacement part for all A/C compressors. If the A/C Compressor Regulator Valve -N280- is not available as an individual A/C compressor part (different versions), then the entire A/C compressor must be replaced if there is a complaint.

2. A/C Compressor
   • Overview. Refer to OVERVIEW - A/C COMPRESSOR POWER UNIT .
   • There are different versions depending on the refrigerant (R134a or R1234yf).
3. A/C Compressor Belt Pulley
   • Different versions, depending on the engine and the A/C compressor
   • Replace the belt pulley. Refer to OVERVIEW - BELT PULLEY .
   • Ribbed belt (for power take-off) removing and installing. Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
   • A/C Compressor Ribbed Belt, Removing and Installing. Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
     NOTE:

     With or without the A/C Clutch -N25- depending on the engine and the A/C compressor belt pulley.

     On vehicles with a 6-cylinder TFSI engine with turbocharger the A/C compressor is driven with a ribbed belt.

4. Oil Drain Plug
   CAUTION:

   Danger due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.

   Danger of frost bite to skin and other parts of the body.

   • Only remove on an empty refrigerant circuit.
5. Pressure Relief Valve
   CAUTION:

   Danger due to refrigerant coming out under pressure when there is a faulty valve.

   Danger of frost bite to skin and other parts of the body.

6. Connection in Refrigerant Line
   • Depending on the version of the vehicle and the engine, these connection points may be present at different locations on the refrigerant lines.
     CAUTION:

     Danger due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.

     Danger of frost bite to skin and other parts of the body.

     • Only loosen the connection point bolts when the refrigerant circuit is empty.
7. High Pressure Sensor -G65-
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE SENSOR -G65-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
   • Checking using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester HIGH PRESSURE SENSOR -G65-, CHECKING .

9. Condenser
   • Overview. Refer to OVERVIEW - REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT COMPONENTS .
10. Receiver/Dryer (of the Condenser with Dryer Cartridge)
    • The receiver/dryer is integrated in the condenser.

11. Refrigerant Line Connection - High Pressure Side
    • Installed in the area of the left headlamp under the fender
12. Refrigerant Line with Inner Heat Exchanger
    • Installed in the area under the left fender
    • In this refrigerant line, the liquid warm refrigerant flowing on the high pressure side releases energy into the vaporous cold refrigerant flowing on the low pressure side. This increases the efficiency of the A/C system.
13. Refrigerant Line Connection - Low Pressure Side
    • Installed in the area of the left headlamp under the fender
