Refrigerant Lines In Plenum Chamber, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Switch off the ignition.
-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT, DISCHARGING WITH A/C SERVICE STATION [R134a] or REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT, DISCHARGING [R1234yf] .
-- Remove the plenum chamber cover. Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
To prevent water from running via intake shaft into the heater and A/C unit when plenum chamber cover is installed, plenum chamber cover must not be damaged. In addition the plenum chamber cover must engage correctly and completely in the plenum chamber cover. Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- To remove the refrigerant line -C- remove the windshield wiper motor. Refer to WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR -V-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REAR WINDOW WIPER MOTOR -V12-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Loosen the plenum chamber bulkhead from the vehicle and move to the side (do not remove) only if necessary (depending on the vehicle). Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the nut -D-. Refer to OVERVIEW - COMPONENTS UNDER FENDER AND IN PLENUM CHAMBER for the tightening specification.
-- Loosen the service connections -B and F- from both refrigerant lines to the expansion valve from the bracket -A- and remove from the inner heat exchanger -E-.
Seal open line connections at the connection point with clean plugs, for example from the Engine Bung Set :VAS6122 .
-- Remove the nut -A-. Refer to OVERVIEW - COMPONENTS UNDER FENDER AND IN PLENUM CHAMBER for the tightening specification.
-- Remove both refrigerant lines -B and C- from the front expansion valve -D-. REFRIGERANT LINES, DISCONNECTING FROM FRONT EXPANSION VALVE AND RECONNECTING
Seal open line connections at the connection point with clean plugs, for example from the Engine Bung Set :VAS6122 .
-- Remove the refrigerant line -B-.
-- Remove the refrigerant lines -C- toward the left fender (under the brake booster).
