Dryer Cartridge, Removing And Installing, From Receiver/Dryer On Condenser: Removing
-- Switch off the ignition.
-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT, DISCHARGING WITH A/C SERVICE STATION [R134a] or REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT, DISCHARGING [R1234yf] .
-- Remove the lock carrier cover. Refer to LOCK CARRIER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- On vehicles with an electric radiator shutter remove it. Refer to RADIATOR SHUTTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- If equipped, remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the air duct -1-.
Danger or frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.
Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.
- Wear safety gloves.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Extract refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.
- If more than 10 minutes elapse after extracting the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, extract the refrigerant again. Pressure develops in the refrigerant circuit due to evaporation.
-- Remove the plug -A-.
-- Remove the desiccant bag from the condenser receiver/dryer -B-. Refer to OVERVIEW - CONDENSER, DESICCANT BAG/DRYER CARTRIDGE .
-- Seal the open connection on receiver/dryer of the condenser with plug -A- (to prevent dirt and moisture from getting in).
