A/C Compressor Ribbed Belt, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Switch off the ignition.
-- Remove the front noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION / NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Risk of destroying by reversing the running direction on a used ribbed belt.
- Before removing the ribbed belt, mark the running direction with chalk or a felt-tip pen for reinstallation.
All Vehicles Except With a 6-cylinder TFSI Engine With Turbocharger:
-- Remove the ribbed belt (for power take-off) -C- from the A/C compressor belt pulley. Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Vehicles With a 6-cylinder TFSI Engine With Turbocharger:
-- Mark the running direction of the ribbed belt for the A/C compressor for reinstallation.
-- Remove the cover from the belt pulley.
-- Loosen the bolt -1- approximately 1/2 turn.
-- Release the tension in the ribbed belt, to do so pivot the tensioner with a socket clockwise -arrow A-.
-- Remove the ribbed belt.
Only in the case that the ribbed belt for the A/C compressor should be replaced:
-- Remove the ribbed belt (for the power take-off). Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
