SUBFRAME, Securing

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Procedure 

-- Support the engine in the installation position. Refer to ENGINE, SECURING TO ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HOLDER [CREC] /ENGINE, SECURING TO ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HOLDER [CYMC] (1 Of 2) or ENGINE, SECURING TO ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HOLDER [CYMC] (2 Of 2) . .

-- Remove the front wheels. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .

-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left and right wheel housing liner sections. Refer to FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Support the subframe with the :VAS6931  and the :T40173  . (Shown on a vehicle without sway stabilization).

-- Secure the subframe with the tensioning strap -arrow-.

CAUTION:

Improper Handling Increases the Risk of Damaging the Threads in the Vehicle Body.

- Never use an impact wrench to loosen or tighten.

- Position the bolts by hand only and screw in the first threads.

-- Replace the bolts -1 and 2- one after the other on both sides of the vehicle via the :T40327  and tighten to 20 Nm.

-- Remove the left and right bolts -3-.

Remove the :T40327 

Removal is performed in the reverse order. Note the following:

-- Only remove a locating pin in a diagonal sequence. Install and tighten a new bolt in this location.

CAUTION:

Improper handling increases the risk of damaging the threads in the vehicle body.

- Never use an impact wrench to loosen or tighten.

- Position the bolts by hand only and screw in the first threads.

-- Remove the :10-222A  . Refer to ENGINE, SECURING TO ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HOLDER [CREC] /ENGINE, SECURING TO ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HOLDER [CYMC] (1 Of 2) or ENGINE, SECURING TO ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HOLDER [CYMC] (2 Of 2) . .

CAUTION:

There Is a Risk of Accident Due to Threaded Connections That Are Not Tightened Correctly.

- Tighten threaded connections correctly before driving on public roads.

-- A road test must be performed after completing repairs. If the steering wheel is crooked, the wheels must be aligned. Refer to AXLE ALIGNMENT .
