Oil Pump, Removing And Installing: Installing

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Install in reverse order of removal and Note The Following :

-- Make sure both alignment bushings for centering the oil pump are present.

-- Before installing check the screen -26- OVERVIEW - OIL PAN/OIL PUMP, VERSION 2 - Oil Screen in the oil pump and the oil channel in the oil pan upper section for debris.

-- Guide the oil pump chain sprocket into the drive chain and install the oil pump.

-- Pull the wire clip of the chain tensioner tension spring with the :T10118 in direction of -arrow- and remove the :T40265 .

CAUTION:

Risk of damaging the engine by incorrect oil pump drive chain tension.

- Ensure the tension spring wire clip is engaged correctly on the locating tab of the oil pan upper section.

-- Check the support of the chain tensioner wire clip.

The wire clip -2- must be supported as shown on the locating tab -1- of the oil pan upper section -arrow-. (Shown when removing the lower timing chain cover.)

-- Version 1 oil pan lower section: insert and tighten the oil baffle -item ) OVERVIEW - OIL PAN/OIL PUMP, VERSION 1 - Oil Baffle.

-- Install the oil pan lower section. Refer to OIL PAN LOWER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Fill the engine oil and check the oil level. Refer to ENGINE OIL .
