Pistons, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:

• Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn after removing them.
• Arrow on the piston crown points toward belt pulley side.

-- Install the compression ring. Refer to -item  ) OVERVIEW - PISTONS AND CONNECTING ROD - List Item: Compression Rings.

-- Installing the oil scraping ring. Refer to -item  ) OVERVIEW - PISTONS AND CONNECTING ROD - List Item: Oil Scraping Ring.

-- Coat the contact surfaces on the bearing shells with oil.

-- Coat the contact surface of the bearing shells and the cylinder wall with engine oil.

-- Push the piston -1- with the : T40347  carefully by hand in the cylinder -arrow-.

-- Install the connecting rod bearing cap. Pay attention to the installation position -item  ) OVERVIEW - PISTONS AND CONNECTING ROD - List Item: Connecting Rod Bearing Cap.

-- Install the cylinder head. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the oil pan upper section. Refer to OIL PAN UPPER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
