Overview - Balance Shaft

- Bolt
Steel: 9 Nm
Aluminum: 4 Nm + 45°
- Always replace the aluminum bolt after removal
- Balance Shaft
- Replace in pairs only. Refer to BALANCE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, EXHAUST SIDE .
- Exhaust side
- Lubricate the bearing with engine oil
- Needle Bearing Rim
- Always replace after removing.
- The needle bearing rim is colored, a needle bearing rim of the same color must be installed.
- Lubricate the bearing with engine oil
- Balance Shaft Pipe
- Installation position. Refer to Fig 2.
- Cylinder Block
- Balance Shaft Seal, Exhaust Side
- Replacing. Refer to BALANCE SHAFT GASKET, REPLACING, INTAKE SIDE .
- Balance Shaft
- Always replace in pairs. Refer to BALANCE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, INTAKE SIDE .
- Intake side
- Lubricate the bearing with engine oil
- Needle Bearing Rim
- Always replace after removing.
- The needle bearing rim is colored, a needle bearing rim of the same color must be installed.
- Lubricate the bearing with engine oil
- Bolt
Steel: 9 Nm
Aluminum: 4 Nm + 45°
- Always replace the aluminum bolt after removal
Balance Shaft Pipe Installation Position
The openings -arrow- must face the chain side.
-- Insert the pipe -2- for the balance shaft in the cylinder block -1-.
- For the correct installation position the dimension must be -a- = 21 mm.
