1. O-Ring
   • Always replace after removing.
   • Coat with oil before assembly
2. Oil Dipstick Tube
   • Clipped in on the upper timing chain cover
3. Bolt
   • 9 Nm
4. Left Coolant Pipe
   • Overview. Refer to OVERVIEW - COOLANT PIPES .
5. Bolt
   • Tightening sequence. Refer to Fig 2.
6. Bolt
   • Steel bolt 9 Nm
   • Aluminum bolt 4 Nm + 45°
   • Always replace the aluminum bolt after removal
7. Cam Adjustment Valve 1 -N205-
   • Removing and installing. Refer to Cam Adjustment Valve 1 -N205- /Exhaust Cam Adjustment Valve 1 -N318-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
   • Replace the O-ring -item  ) OVERVIEW - TIMING CHAIN COVER - List Item: O-Rings.
8. Bolt
   • Steel bolt 9 Nm
   • Aluminum bolt 4 Nm + 45°
   • Always replace the aluminum bolt after removal
9. Exhaust Cam Adjustment Valve 1 -N318-
   • Removing and installing. Refer to Cam Adjustment Valve 1 -N205- /Exhaust Cam Adjustment Valve 1 -N318-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
   • Always replace the O-ring -item  ) OVERVIEW - TIMING CHAIN COVER - List Item: O-Rings.
10. Seals
    • Always replace after removing.
    • Installation position: smaller inner diameter outward
    • Remove to replace the upper timing chain cover -item  ) OVERVIEW - TIMING CHAIN COVER - List Item: Upper Timing Chain Cover
    • Coat with oil before assembly
11. Seal
    • Always replace if damaged
12. Cap
13. Upper Timing Chain Cover
    • Removing and installing. Refer to UPPER TIMING CHAIN COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
14. Seal
    • Always replace if damaged
15. O-Rings
    • Always replace after removing.
    • Coat with engine oil
16. Alignment Pin
    • For centering the cover
    • Quantity: 2
17. Bolt
    • Tightening specification and sequence with 15 bolts. Refer to Fig 3.
    • Tightening specification and sequence with 8 bolts. Refer to Fig 4.
    • Always replace after removing.
18. Lower Timing Chain Cover
    • Always replace after removing.
    • With gasket
    • Removing and installing. Refer to LOWER TIMING CHAIN COVER, REPLACING .
19. Seal
    • Replacing. Refer to VIBRATION DAMPER SEAL, REPLACING .
    • For the vibration damper
20. Plugs
    • Always replace after removing.

Upper Timing Chain Cover - Tightening Specifications and Sequence

-- Tighten the bolts -1 to 6- in the sequence shown to 9 Nm.

Lower Timing Chain Cover with 15 bolts - Tightening Specifications and Sequence

• Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn after removing them.

-- Tighten the bolts in the steps shown in the sequence:
