Brake Rotor Thickness, Checking For Wear

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Procedure

NOTE:

The engraving "min. weight " -4- is not on all brake rotors. Refer to BRAKE ROTOR THICKNESS, CHECKING, WITH ENGRAVED "min. weight"

-- Measure the brake rotor thickness -x- three times around the circumference in addition to the individual wear indicators.

NOTE:

If dimension -x- = minimum thickness "+0.2 mm" is reached, also check the wear indicators to determine the brake rotor wear. Refer to WEAR INDICATORS, CHECKING .

WARNING:

Risk of accident due to insufficient braking effect.

  • Ceramic brakes should be replaced when, one of the defined wear limits is reached. The brake rotor can no longer be driven.

If a brake rotor is damaged or worn, check the other brake rotors for damage and wear.
