Test Sequence

• Engine oil temperature at least 30 °C (86 °F).
• Battery voltage at least 12.7 V.

-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connector -1- for the FSI fuel injectors.

-- Disconnect the connector -2- for the MPI fuel injectors/fuel injection valves.

-- Remove the ignition coils with power output stages. Refer to IGNITION COILS WITH POWER OUTPUT STAGES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the spark plugs using the :3122B  .

-- Install the :VAG1381/13  as shown in the respective spark plug hole and connect the :VAG1763  .

-- Check the compression using the :VAG1763  . Refer to the Operating Manual.

-- Press the accelerator pedal down all the way and operate starter long enough until the tester no longer indicates an increase in pressure.

-- Repeat the procedure on each cylinder.
