Water Channel, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the plenum chamber cover. Refer to Bulkhead ; (Plenum Chamber Cover Overview).

-- If installed: Remove the Structure Borne Sound Control Module -J869-. Refer to Bulkhead (Overview - Structure Borne Sound Actuator and Control Module, Vehicles with a Diesel Engine) the appropriate service information or [For engine(s) CZRA] Sensors

-- If installed: Disconnect the connector -3- from the Air Quality Sensor -G238-.

-- Remove the nuts -arrows-.

-- Remove the water channel -2- from the threaded pin -4- and remove it from the plenum chamber.

NOTE:

If the water channel is damaged or installed incorrectly, water can enter the fresh air intake. Complaints due to odor problems coming from the heater/A/C system and/or there is moisture in the passenger compartment may result.

If the plenum chamber cover is damaged or incorrectly installed, water can enter the fresh air intake via the water channel where applicable.
