Overview - Air Routing And Air Distribution In Passenger Compartment

NOTE:

A head area heater is installed as optional equipment for the A3 Cabrio. On vehicles with a head area heater there is an additional vent installed in the seat and in the A/C control head the Climatronic Control Module -J255- there are additional buttons to switch on and off the head area heater. Additional information. Refer to HEAD AREA HEATER .

Left Footwell Vent Air Guide - Driver Side
- Removing and installing. Refer to DRIVER SIDE FOOTWELL VENT .
Air Guide
- To the defroster vents
- Removing and installing. Refer to DEFROSTER VENT AIR DUCT .
Left Vent Temperature Sensor -G150-
- For equipment versions with Automatic climate control
- Improperly installed vent temperature sensors cause flow-generated noise
- Removing and installing. Refer to LEFT/RIGHT VENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR -G150- / -G151-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Plug for Left Vent
- For equipment versions with heater or manually regulated A/C system
- A loose or missing sealing plug causes flow-generated noise.
Left Instrument Panel Vent
- To remove and install. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT PANEL .
Left Center Instrument Panel Vent
- To remove and install. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT PANEL .
Left Defroster Vent
- Removing and installing. Refer to SIDE DEFROSTER VENT .
Center Defroster Vent
- Removing and installing. Refer to FRONT CENTER VENTS .
Center Speaker Trim
Right Defroster Vent
- Removing and installing. Refer to SIDE DEFROSTER VENT .
Right Instrument Panel Vent
- To remove and install. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT PANEL .
Right Vent Temperature Sensor -G151-
- For equipment versions with Automatic climate control
- Improperly installed vent temperature sensors cause flow-generated noise
- Removing and installing. Refer to LEFT/RIGHT VENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR -G150- / -G151-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Plug for Right Vent
- For equipment versions with heater or manually regulated A/C system

Right Center Instrument Panel Vent
- To remove and install. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT PANEL .
Center Instrument Panel Air Guide Vent
- Removing and installing. Refer to CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL VENT AIR GUIDE .
Sealing Plugs
- For equipment versions without glove compartment cooling
- Secure loose plugs with a spring-type clamp. Refer to Fig 2
  NOTE:
  Glove compartment cooling insert open.
  
  Depending on the version, the connection can also be directly sealed on the heater and A/C unit.
Bolt
- 1.5 Nm
Right Footwell Vent Air Guide - Front Passenger Side
- Removing and installing. Refer to FRONT PASSENGER SIDE FOOTWELL VENT .
Heater and A/C Unit
- There are different versions. Refer to the Parts Information.
- Removing and installing. Refer to HEATER AND A/C UNIT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Sealing Plug for Glove Compartment Cooling

-- A loose plug -3- must be secured to the heater and A/C unit -1- using a hose clamp -2-. For the correct hose clamps. Refer to the Parts Information.

Left Rear Footwell Vent Air Guide
- Removing and installing. Refer to REAR FOOTWELL VENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Noises may result with a damaged or loose wiring harness bracket
Sealing Plugs
- For equipment versions without rear air guide channel
  NOTE:
  Depending on the version, the connection can also be directly sealed on the heater and A/C unit. Refer to OVERVIEW - AIR DISTRIBUTION HOUSING DOORS AND PARTITIONS .

Right Rear Footwell Vent Air Guide
- Removing and installing. Refer to REAR FOOTWELL VENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
