Multimedia System Control Head -E380- IN CENTER CONSOLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing

-- Turn off the ignition and all electrical equipment and remove the ignition key.

The four spring tabs secure the Multimedia System Control Head -E380- in the center console.

CAUTION:

The surfaces can get scratched very easily. Carefully tape off all surfaces and sections!

Vehicles with Manual Transmission

-- Fold the selector lever boot upward over the gearshift knob. Refer to the appropriate Service Information .

Vehicles with DSG Transmission

-- Fold the selector lever boot upward over the selector lever handle. Refer to OVERVIEW - SELECTOR LEVER HANDLE .

-- Remove the Selector Lever Transmission Range Position Display Unit -Y26-. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER TRANSMISSION RANGE POSITION DISPLAY UNIT -Y26-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Continuation for All Vehicles

-- Remove the center console trim panel. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE DECORATIVE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Push the : 3409 left and right carefully between the Multimedia System Control Head -E380- -1- and the center console -2- until the four spring tabs loosen. Remove the Multimedia System Control Head -E380- -1- upward in direction of -arrows- from the center console -2-.

CAUTION:

Pay attention to the different wire lengths to the connectors!

-- Release and disconnect the connector from the rear side of the Multimedia System Control Head -E380- -1-.

-- Remove the installed switch. Refer to Controls .
