Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Brake Charger/Bleeder Unit: VAS5234 with Brake Bleeder Adapter : VAS5234/1
- Brake Bleeding Tool Set: VAS6564
- or
- Brake Filling and Bleeding Equipment: VAS6860 with Brake Bleeder Adapter : VAS5234/1A
- Read the operation manual for Brake Charger/Bleeder Unit: VAS5234 or Brake Filling and Bleeding Equipment: VAS6860 .
- Brake Bleeding Tool Set: VAS6564
- Wrench - Brake Bleeder Set: VAS5519
Procedure
- Brake fluid is poisonous, and must never be siphoned by mouth under any circumstances.
- Wash off any brake fluid that comes into contact with the skin with a lot of water.
- If brake fluid comes in contact with the eyes, wash out the eye(s) and see a doctor.
-- Fill the brake fluid reservoir with brake fluid up to the "max" mark.
-- Connect the Brake Charger/Bleeder Unit: VAS5234 or Brake Filling and Bleeding Equipment: VAS6860 to the Brake Charger/Bleeder Unit - Adapter: VAS5234/1 .
-- Remove the cap -1- on each brake caliper bleed screw and connect the container bleed hose to the bleed screw.
Use a suitable bleeder hose. It must be seated tightly on the bleed screw so that no air can enter the brake system.
Bleeding Sequence
1 - Left Front Brake Caliper
2 - Right Front Brake Caliper
3 - Left Rear Brake Caliper
4 - Right Rear Brake Caliper
Bleed the brake caliper at each bleed screw. If the brake caliper has two bleed screws, bleed the outer screw first.
-- With the bleeder bottle hose attached, leave the brake caliper bleeder valve open long enough so that the brake fluid flows out free of bubbles.
-- Tighten the bleed screw, remove the bleed hose and put the protective cap on the bleed screw.
-- Repeat the bleeding procedure in the specified sequence for the remaining brake calipers.
-- Fill the brake fluid reservoir under consideration of brake pad wear up to the max marking and install the cap.
-- Start the engine and check the brake pedal travel and pressure.
-- If the pedal travel is too long, check the brake system for leaks or repeat the bleeding procedure.
-- Fill the brake fluid reservoir with brake fluid up to the "max" mark.
-- Screw down the container.
A road test must be performed after bleeding. During this, at least one ABS control must be performed!
Changing the Brake Fluid

- Make sure the brakes are working correctly before driving the vehicle for the first time.
Tightening Specifications
