Fender, Removing And Installing
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Trim Removal Wedge: 3409
Removing
-- Open the front door.
-- Push aside the end plate -1- in the upper area using the : 3409 .
-- Remove the bolt -arrow-.
-- RS3: Remove the windshield washer fluid reservoir. Refer to WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID RESERVOIR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the bumper cover mount. Refer to BUMPER COVER MOUNT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- If equipped remove the damper for the fender.
-- Remove the bolts -2 and 3-.
-- Remove the sealing piece. Refer to SEALING PIECE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the bolts -1 and 2-.
-- RS3: Slide the fender -1- towards the A-pillar in direction of -arrow- and remove upward out of the retaining tab -2-.
-- Remove the fender.
Fender, Preparing for Installation
The fender can only be ordered in individual components and must be prepared for installation as follows.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Pop Rivet Nut Pliers: VAS5072A
- Drill
- Pop rivets. Refer to the Parts Information.
-- Rivet the brackets -2 and 4- and the reinforcement -5- (not for Sedan) to the fender -1- with the pop rivets -3-.
- The brackets must be behind the fender edge.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:
-- Insert the seal -2- in the area of the center bolt in the fender -1-.
