Transmission Fluid, Filling
-- When no transmission fluid drains out of the opening for drain and check plug -arrow 1- between 35 and 45 °C (95 to 113° F), fill the transmission fluid as follows.
Danger of causing damage to the transmission.
- Only the transmission fluid available as a replacement part may be used in the DSG transmission 0D9.
- Using other fluids can cause malfunctions or transmission failure.
- The oil filler adapter must be clean and transmission fluid must not be mixed with another fluid!
-- Measure the length -a- of the vent pipe on the transmission fluid container and shorten it if necessary before installing the :VAS6262A . Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL, CHECKING .
-- Shake before opening.
-- Attach the transmission fluid container on the :VAS6262A .
-- Install the :VAS6262A into the opening for the drain and check plug -arrow 1- hand-tight.
-- Hold the container and :VAS6262A as high as possible over the transmission and fill the transmission with transmission fluid.
-- To check whether the transmission is filled sufficiently, disconnect quick release coupling on :VAS6262A at regular intervals and seal with finger or clean plug.
- The collected gear oil runs out of the overflow tube -arrow 2-.
Some transmission fluid oil always leaks out when opening the drain and check plug -arrow 1-, regardless of the transmission fluid level.
Every 30 seconds, a small wave of fluid exits the overflow tube, regardless of the height of the oil level (Reason: Cooling oil impulse to clutch.) This wave does not mean there is excess fluid and does not indicate the fluid level.
Do not reuse transmission fluid that was drained.
- If some gear oil still leaks out at a temperature between 35 and 45 °C (95 to 113° F (due to additional warming), gear oil level is OK.
-- If the transmission fluid level is OK, perform final measurements. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL, CHECKING .
