Selector Mechanism, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the selector lever handle. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the Selector Lever Transmission Range Position Display Unit -Y26- -1-. Refer to Selector Lever Transmission Range Position Display Unit -Y26-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the center console insert -1-. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE .

-- Separate the electrical connector -1- from the function unit of the selector mechanism to the vehicle wire set.

NOTE:

Ignore -2-.

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER [For engine(s) CRUA, DEJA] or AIR FILTER [For engine(s) CNSB, CNTC] .

-- Remove the clip -2-.

-- Push the lock washer -3- upward and remove in direction of -arrow-.

-- Remove the selector lever cable from the transmission selector lever and pull it out of the cable bracket.

NOTE:

For better illustration the installed location is shown from behind.

Ignore -1-.

CAUTION:

Danger of damaging the selector lever cable.

Push the selector lever cable to the rear and out of the cable bracket. Guide the selector lever cable out of the cable bracket when removing the selector mechanism function unit.
Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.

-- Remove the floor heat shield. Refer to MOLDINGS, TRIMS, EXTENSIONS AND TRIM PANELS .

NOTE:

A second technician is required under the vehicle to remove the selector mechanism function unit.

-- Remove the nuts -arrows- in the vehicle interior.

-- Remove the selector lever function unit from below with the selector lever cable. Guide the selector lever cable out of the cable bracket at the same time.

CAUTION:

Danger of damaging the selector lever cable.

Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.
