Oil Pan, Removing And Installing: Removing
Danger of causing damage to the transmission.
- Do not run engine or tow vehicle with transmission fluid pan removed or without transmission fluid.
Follow the rules for clean working conditions. Refer to CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
General repair instructions. Refer to GENERAL REPAIR INFORMATION .
-- Drain the transmission fluid. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID, DRAINING AND FILLING .
-- Remove the nuts -arrows-, and remove the bracket from the oil pan.
The threaded bolts are welded to the front of the oil pan.
There is a risk of destroying the control module (Mechatronic) with electrostatic discharge.
- Do not touch contacts in transmission connector with hands.
-- To electrostatically discharge, touch the ground (without glove).
-- Turn the twist lock counter-clockwise -arrow- and disconnect the connector -1- for the DSG Transmission Mechatronic -J743-
-- Vehicles with a TFSI engine: loosen the clamps -1 and 2-, and remove the air guide hose.
-- Place the :SMN372500 under the transmission.
-- Loosen the bolts -arrows- diagonally.
-- Remove the oil pan -A- with oil pan gasket and let the transmission fluid remaining in oil pan drain into the :SMN372500 .
