Rollover Protection, Removing And Installing: Removing

WARNING:

Follow the safety precautions for the rollover protection, refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR ROLLOVER PROTECTION .

-- Open convertible top.

-- Secure the convertible top compartment cover in the "open" position against unintentional closing, to do this the hinge must be pushed in the uppermost deviation point until stop -1- on the brace -2- -arrow-.

-- Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) cable with the ignition turned on, refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING (A3 / A3 CABRIOLET) .

-- Remove the rear seat backrest, refer to REAR SEAT BACKREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the side trim panel, refer to SIDE TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the side rear panel trim panel, refer to SIDE REAR PANEL TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolt -2-.

-- Remove the three-point seat belt -1- upward from the mount and set aside.

-- Disconnect the connector -1- to do this remove the connector lock and press down.

Loosen only those bolts shown in the illustration.

-- Remove the bolts -A through D-.

-- Remove the rollover protection -2- upward from the vehicle.
