Driveshaft Flange Seal, Replacing, Q3: Removing
Risk of damaging decoupling elements
- Do not bend the decoupling elements in the front exhaust pipe more than 10°.
-- Separate the exhaust system at the clamping sleeve -arrow-.
-- Tie the front exhaust pipe to the underbody.
-- Remove the exhaust system rear section. Refer to OVERVIEW - MUFFLER (2.0L 4V TFSI Engine; EA 888 Generation II, As of 01.2018), OVERVIEW - MUFFLER (2.0L 4V TFSI Engine; EA 888 Generation III, As Of 12.2017), or OVERVIEW - MUFFLER (2.0L 4V TFSI Engine; EA 888 Generation II, As of 09.2016) .
-- Remove the rear flexible disc. Refer to REAR FLEXIBLE DISC, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the flange/driveshaft hex nut.
A - Bolt M10 x 25
B - M8 x 15 Bolt (installed in the : 3415 from the rear)
-- Remove the driveshaft flange. Use :12/1 , if difficult to access.
-- Remove the seal using the : VW681 .
