Removal [08/2013 - ]

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing. Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2013 - ] .

    NOTE:

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work. Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2013 - ] .

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE TRIM SERVICE HOLE COVER  . Refer to REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] - Step 2
  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2013 - ] .

  4. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL  . Refer to REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] - Step 14
  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH  . Refer to REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] - Step 4
  6. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH  . Refer to REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] - Step 5
  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH  . Refer to REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] - Step 6
  8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH  . Refer to REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] - Step 21
  9. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] - Step 22
  10. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL  . Refer to REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] - Step 23
  11. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    WARNING:

    When storing the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

    1. Check that the power switch is off.
    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Remove the 4 bolts.

    4. Disengage the 2 hooks to separate the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.
      NOTE:

      When removing the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly, do not pull the airbag wire harness.

    5. Disengage the 2 claws to disconnect the DLC3.

    6. Disconnect the connector and disengage the clamp to remove the wire harness.
    7. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, release the airbag connector lock.

    8. Disconnect the airbag connector to remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  12. REMOVE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING RESET SWITCH  . Refer to REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] - Step 2
