Pinpoint Test K : B1B48:08, B1B48:31 And B1B48:1F

- K1 CHECK THE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE PAM (PARKING ASSIST CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PAM self-test.
- Check the PAM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the self-test.
Are Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) for multiple front parking aid sensors recorded?
Yes GO to K2 No * For Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) B1B48:08, B1B48:31, or B1B48:1F GO to K3
* For all other PAM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), REFER to DTC Chart: Parking Aid Module (PAM) . - K2 CHECK THE REAR BUMPER WIRING HARNESS
- Inspect the front bumper wiring harness for opens, shorts, grounds or corrosion.
Is the rear bumper wiring harness OK?
Yes GO to K3 No REPAIR or INSTALL a new rear bumper wiring harness. - K3 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE SENSOR
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect left rear outer parking aid sensor C4544 .
- Ignition ON.
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C4544-1 Ground
Is the voltage greater than 9.5 volts?
Yes GO to K4 No REPAIR the circuit. - K4 CHECK FOR GROUND AT THE SENSOR
Is the voltage greater than 9.5 volts?
Yes GO to K5 No REPAIR the circuit. - K5 CHECK THE SENSOR FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect left rear outer parking aid sensor C4544 .
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C4544-2 Ground
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to K6 No REPAIR the circuit. - K6 CHECK THE SENSOR FOR A SHORT TO POWER
- Ignition ON.
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C4544-2 Ground
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the affected circuits. No GO to K7 - K7 CHECK THE SENSOR FOR A SHORT TO VREF OR SIGNAL RETURN CIRCUITS
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect PAM C4226A .
Are the resistances greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to K8 No REPAIR the affected circuits. - K8 CHECK THE SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect left rear outer parking aid sensor C4544 .
- Disconnect PAM C4226A .
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C4544-1 C4226A-3 C4544-2 C4226A-16 C4544-3 C4226A-10
Are the resistances less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to K9 No REPAIR the affected circuit. - K9 INSTALL A KNOWN GOOD SENSOR
- Connect PAM C4226A .
- Install a known good sensor for the left rear outer parking aid sensor. REFER to: Rear Parking Aid Sensor .
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the PAM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and repeat the self-test.
Is DTC B1B48:08, B1B48:31B or B1B48:1F still present?
Yes GO to K10 No INSTALL a new left rear outer parking aid sensor. REFER to: Rear Parking Aid Sensor . - K10 CHECK FOR CORRECT PAM (PARKING ASSIST CONTROL MODULE) OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect all PAM connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the PAM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new PAM. REFER to: Parking Assist Control Module (PAM) . No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
