Camshafts Or Camshaft Bearing, Removing And Replacing On Cylinder Bank 2 (Left): Removing

-- Remove the camshaft timing chain for the intake camshaft. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN, REMOVING FROM CAMSHAFTS .
- Secure crankshaft -1- in "Top Dead Center (TDC)" position using :T40237 .
-- Check the camshaft "TDC" position:
- The intake camshaft -2- must be able to be stopped with the :T40060 .
- The bolt -arrow- in the :T40060 must be perpendicular to the center axis of the camshaft.
- The exhaust camshaft -1- must be positioned so that the groove -arrow B- runs parallel above the joint -arrow A- between the thrust bearing and the bearing cap.
-- Mount the :T40096 onto the teeth of the intake camshaft so that one arm of the clamping tool engages in one sprocket half.
- The wider arm must engage into the wider half of the sprocket.
-- Tension the tensioning tool with the thumb wheel until the tooth faces align.
-- Loosen the bearing cap bolts in the following sequence: -12 to 1-.
NOTE:
Be careful of the roller rocker lever and the hydraulic adjuster when removing the camshafts.
-- Carefully remove the bearing cap and the camshafts.
