Crankshaft, Measuring Axial Play

Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required
- Dial Gauge Holder :VW387
- Dial Gauge - 0-10mm :VAS6079
-- Install the :VAS6079 with the :VW387 on the cylinder block as shown in the illustration.
-- Place the dial gauge against the crankshaft counterweight.
-- Press the crankshaft against the dial gauge by hand and set the gauge to "0".
-- Press the crankshaft off the dial gauge and read the measurement.
- Axial play: 0.15 to 0.25 mm.
