Removal And Installation

All vehicles
NOTE:
This procedure provides Information about routing, retaining points and connectors of the cable. It does not Include the steps for removing components to gain access to the cable.
- 1.
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to Identification Codes .
- 2.
Disconnect the battery. Refer to: Battery Disconnect .
- 3.
Remove the nut from the EPAS body ground terminal stud bolt and position the cable aside.- To Install, tighten to 92 lb-in (10.5 Nm).
- 4.
Remove the battery cable body ground terminal stud bolt and position the cable aside.- To install, tighten to 106 lb-in (12 Nm).
- 7.
Remove the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) harness positive terminal nut and the Battery Junction Box (BJB) harness positive terminal nut and position the cables aside.- To install, tighten Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) harness positive terminal nut to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
- To install, tighten Battery Junction Box (BJB) harness positive terminal nut to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
- 9.
Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray .
- 10.
Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to Intake Air Distribution and Filtering .
- 11.
Disconnect the quick connect couplings and disconnect the turbocharger bypass tube. Refer to Fuel System General Information .
- 12.
- 1.
Release the turbocharger inlet tube from the turbocharger inlet tube bracket grommet.
- 2.
Loosen the turbocharger inlet tube clamp and remove the turbocharger inlet tube.
- To Install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-In).

Release the turbocharger outlet tube from the retaining clamp and release the turbocharger outlet tube from the turbocharger outlet tube bracket grommet. Loosen the turbocharger outlet tube clamp and remove the turbocharger outlet tube.- To Install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-In).
- 14.
Remove the generator B+ cable end cover and the B+ cable end nut and position the cable aside.- To Install, tighten to 17 Nm (150 lb-In).
- 19.
If equipped, remove the 4 bolts and the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) skid plate.- To Install, tighten to 40 Nm (30lb-ft).
- 21.
Remove the battery cable harness bracket bolt and the battery cable chassis ground terminal bolt.- To Install, tighten the battery cable harness bracket bolt to 20 Nm (177 lb-In).
- To Install, tighten the battery cable chassis ground terminal bolt to 20 Nm (177 lb-In).
- 23.
Remove the battery cable shield nut and position the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket aside.- To Install, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-In).
- 25.
Remove the starter solenoid wire terminal nut and position the cable aside.- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-In).
- 27.
Remove the starter solenoid positive cable terminal nut and position the cable aside.- To Install, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-In).
- 28.
Remove the stud bolt and position the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket aside.- To Install, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-In).
Vehicle with Four-Wheel Drive(4WD)
- 31.
Remove the front axle mounting bolts and lower the front axle to allow clearance to the wire harness retainers at the engine front cover and the block.- To Install, tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).
All vehicles
- 32.
Disconnect the wire harness retainers from the engine front cover, engine block and the oil filter adapter.
