DTC U023A: Lost Communication with Front Camera Module [08/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE TYPE 
    1. Check vehicle type.

      w/o Dynamic radar cruise control system A

    A: Go to next step 

  2. RECONFIRM DTC OUTPUT 
    1. Reconfirm DTCs.

      HINT: 

      If DTC U1002 is output from PM1 Gateway of the power management control ECU, this indicates a sub bus 11 malfunction. Troubleshoot for DTC U1002 and check for malfunctions in sub bus 11.

  3. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (LANE DEPARTURE WARNING CAMERA BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the T12 lane departure warning camera connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T12-6 (CA1P) - T12-12 (CA1N) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Lane Departure Warning Camera)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH LINE OR CONNECTOR (LANE DEPARTURE WARNING CAMERA) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GROUND TERMINAL) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T12-11 (GND) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      (to Lane Departure Warning Camera)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (GROUND CIRCUIT) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE TERMINAL) 
    1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T12-7 (IGB) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      (to Lane Departure Warning Camera)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 

    OK → See step   7 

  6. GO TO DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTC. Refer to  DTC U1002: Lost Communication with Gateway Module [08/2013 - ]  
  7. REPLACE LANE DEPARTURE WARNING CAMERA. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2013 - ]
