DTC B2603: Tilt and Telescopic Manual Switch Circuit Malfunction [08/2013 - ]: Procedure

- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (TILT UP/DOWN SWITCH, TELESCOPIC SHORT/LONG SWITCH)
- Turn the power switch off.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Check the tilt and telescopic switch.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Tilt & Telescopic / Data List.TILT & TELESCOPIC

"ON" is displayed on the Techstream screen when each switch is turned on.
"OFF" is displayed on the Techstream screen when each switch is turned off.

- Turn the power switch off.
- CONFIRM DTC
- Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ] .
- Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ]

Result Proceed to DTCs are output. A DTCs are not output. B

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU - TILT AND TELESCOPIC SWITCH)
- Disconnect the H12 multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU connector.
- Disconnect the H20 tilt and telescopic switch connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition H12-5 (VC) - H20-1 (VC) Always Below 1 Ω H12-18 (MSW) - H20-3 (MSW) H12-5 (VC) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher H12-18 (MSW) - Body ground
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU (VC TERMINAL VOLTAGE)
- Reconnect the H12 multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

- Reconnect the H12 multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU connector.
- CHECK TILT AND TELESCOPIC SWITCH
- Remove the tilt and telescopic switch. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2013 - ]

- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

- REPLACE MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2013 - ]
- REPLACE TILT AND TELESCOPIC SWITCH. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2013 - ]
