DTC P3107-215: Lost Communication with Airbag System Control Module [08/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (SRS AIRBAG) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Airbag system DTCs are not output. A
      Airbag system DTCs are output. B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    B → See step   13 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CLEAR DTC. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 4 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P3107-215 is not output. A
      P3107-215 is output again. B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    B → See step   5 

    A: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

    Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [08/2013 - ]

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA 

    OK → See step   11 

  5. CHECK AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (CHECK WAVEFORM) See step   2 

    B → See step   6 

    A → See step   12 

  6. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 3 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR) See step   7 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (+B SHORT) See step   8 

    NG → See step   10 

    OK: Go to next step 

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU - AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY) See step   9 

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   11 

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY WIRES) See step   11 

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   12 

  11. REPLACE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2013 - ] 
  12. REPLACE POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU. Refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2013 - ] 
  13. GO TO DTC CHART (AIRBAG SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2013 - ]
