Pattern Select Switch Sport Mode Circuit [08/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CAN BUS CHECK) See step   2 

    B → See step   9 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HEALTH CHECK) See step   3 

    B → GO TO DTC CHART 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (PATTERN SWITCH (PWR/M)) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Pattern Switch (PWR/M).
    4. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
      Pattern Switch (PWR/M) SPORT mode transition availability/
      ON or OFF
      In SPORT mode: ON

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The Techstream display changes according to the integration control and panel assembly operation. A

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SPORT MODE SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Sports Mode Switch.
    4. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
      Sports Mode Switch Integration control and panel assembly condition /
      ON or OFF
      Mode switch being turned and held at SPORT position: ON
      Mode switch not turned: OFF

      Result

  5. CHECK INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY (MODE SWITCH) 
    1. Remove the integration control and panel assembly. Refer to COMPONENTS [08/2013 - ] .
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 - 5 Mode switch being turned and held at SPORT position Below 1 Ω
      Mode switch not turned 10 kΩ or higher
      2 - 5 Mode switch being pushed and held Below 1 Ω
      Mode switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

      (Integration Control and Panel Assembly)
    3. Install the integration control and panel assembly.

    NG → See step   10 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) See step   7 

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the A22 ECM connector.
    2. Disconnect the H71 integration control and panel assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A22-9 (PWMS) - H71-3 (P) Always Below 1 Ω
      A22-9 (PWMS) or H71-3 (P) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A22-43 (SPCN) - H71-2 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      A22-43 (SPCN) or H71-2 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      (to Integration Control and Panel Assembly)
    4. Reconnect the H71 integration control and panel assembly connector.
    5. Reconnect the A22 ECM connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   11 

  8. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [08/2013 - ] 
  9. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2013 - ] 
  10. REPLACE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2013 - ] 
  11. REPLACE ECM. Refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2013 - ]
