Pattern Select Switch Eco Mode Circuit [08/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CAN BUS CHECK) See step   2 

    B → See step   10 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HEALTH CHECK) See step   3 

    B → GO TO DTC CHART 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ECO MODE) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / ECO Mode.
    4. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
      ECO Mode ECO mode transition availability/
      ON or OFF
      In ECO mode: ON

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The Techstream display changes according to the integration control and panel assembly operation. A
      The Techstream display does not change according to the integration control and panel assembly operation. B

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ECO SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioning / Data List / ECO Switch.
    4. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
      ECO Switch Integration control and panel assembly condition/
      ON or OFF
      Mode switch being turned and held at ECO position: ON
      Mode switch not turned: OFF

  5. INSPECT INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY (MODE SWITCH) 
    1. Remove the integration control and panel assembly. Refer to COMPONENTS [08/2013 - ] .
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      4 - 5 Mode switch being turned and held at ECO position Below 1 Ω
      Mode switch not turned 10 kΩ or higher
      2 - 5 Mode switch being pushed and held Below 1 Ω
      Mode switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

      (Integration Control and Panel Assembly)
    3. Install the integration control and panel assembly.

    NG → See step   8 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) See step   7 

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the H54 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the H71 integration control and panel assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H54-4 (ECOS) - H71-4 (ECU) Always Below 1 Ω
      H54-4 (ECOS) or H71-4 (ECU) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      (to Air Conditioning Amplifier Assembly)
      *b Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to Integration Control and Panel Assembly)
    4. Reconnect the H71 integration control and panel assembly connector.
    5. Reconnect the H54 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   11 

  8. REPLACE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2013 - ] 
  9. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [08/2013 - ] 
  10. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2013 - ] 
  11. REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2013 - ]
