Fuel Tank, Draining
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Fuel Extraction Device :VAS5190A is not for NAR market
- Use Gasoline Storage Cart :FM3000GH
- Fuel Extraction - Adapter 4 :VAS5190/4 or equivalent
If the :FM3000GH has a suction hose with a mounted tip, then replace that with one that has a tip that screws on.
-- Remove the tip -1- from the fuel extraction hose for the :FM3000GH .
-- Install the :VAS5190/1 from the :VAS5190/10 on the suction hose.
-- Follow all safety precautions. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
-- Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
-- Move the right front seat all the way forward.
Risk of damaging electronic components when disconnecting the battery.
- Complete the steps for disconnecting the battery.
-- Disconnect the ground cable from the battery terminal. Refer to BATTERY .
Risk of explosion due to electrostatic charge.
- Secure the :FM3000GH ground wire to a bare area of the chassis.
-- Remove the rear bench seat. Refer to OVERVIEW - SEAT BENCH/SINGLE SEAT .
-- Fold the insulation mat near the locking flange cover to the side.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the locking flange cover.
There is a risk of injury because the fuel is under high pressure.
- To reduce pressure in fuel system, lay a clean cloth around the connector and carefully loosen connector.
-- Remove the fuel line -1- from the locking flange. Disconnect the connector couplings. Refer to CONNECTOR COUPLINGS, SEPARATING .
-- Connect the suction hose with the :VAS5190/1 from the sealing flange supply connection.
-- Discharge the fuel tank with the :VAS5190A through the sealing flange supply connection.
-- Install the right locking flange cover. Refer to .
-- Install the rear bench seat. Refer to OVERVIEW - SEAT BENCH/SINGLE SEAT .
