Front Lower Control Arm Bonded Rubber Bushing, Replacing

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Bonded Rubber Bushing, Pressing Out

-- Press out the bonded rubber bushings as shown.

  1. :VW411 
  2. :T10219/1  (The opening in the pipe is down and faces the control arm)
  3. :VW402

-- Note the installation position. Refer to Figure.

NOTE:

The bonded rubber bushing will be crooked for a short time at the beginning of the installation. Later it will straighten out. It will not be necessary to guide it.

-- Coat the outside of the bonded rubber bushing with Installation Lubricant (thinned with water in 1:20 ratio). Refer to the Parts Information.

-- Place bonded rubber bushing on at an angle (in direction of control arm), when doing this the lip must slip into hole.

-- Install the bonded rubber bushing until the core -1- and the control arm hole -2- are at the same height.

-- Press the bushing back slightly in the control arm.
