Engine Oil, Filling

CAUTION:

Pressing the accelerator pedal too soon after the oil change damages the engine.

Run the engine in idle as long as the indicator lamp for engine oil pressure in the instrument cluster is turned on.
Only increase the RPM when the indicator lamp goes out.

Refer to 03 MAINTENANCE, DIAGNOSIS (2016) or 03 MAINTENANCE, DIAGNOSIS (2017-2018) for engine-specific oil capacities and standards.

Procedure:

-- Fill the engine oil using the Filling Aid for Engine Oil: VAS6842 .

-- Then check the oil level and correct if necessary. Refer to ENGINE OIL LEVEL, CHECKING AND CORRECTING IF NECESSARY .

-- For all 4-cylinder gasoline engines 1.8L TFSI / 2.0L TFSI with the oil filler tube on the chain guard cover: clean the sealing surface -arrow- on the inside of the oil filler tube using a lint-free cloth before installing the cap.

NOTE:

The specified oil quantity in the Maintenance Table refers to the oil change and is not identical to the engine oil capacity at the initial filling.
