Filling Joints with Grease

- Outer CV Joint
- Only replace completely
- Removing. Refer to DRIVE AXLE, SERVICING, ATTACHED TO THE TRANSMISSION STUB SHAFT - Outer CV Joint, Removing .
- Installing: drive onto shaft with a plastic mallet until compressed circlip rebounds.
- Checking. Refer to OUTER CV JOINT, CHECKING .
- Bolt
- Bolt WHT.005.437 / black 180° additional turn.
- Bolt WHT.005.437. A / silver 90° additional turn.
- Always replace if removed
- Loosening and tightening. Refer to DRIVE AXLE THREADED CONNECTION, LOOSENING AND TIGHTENING .
- Before installing, clean the threads in the CV joint with a thread tap.
- Circlip
- Always replace if removed
- Insert in shaft groove
- Clamp
- Always replace if removed
- Tensioning. Refer to Figure.
- CV Joint CV Boot
- Check for tears and scuffing
- Clamp
- Always replace if removed
- Tensioning. Refer to Figure.
- Drive Axle
- Clamp
- Always replace if removed
- Tensioning. Refer to Figure.
- CV Boot for Triple Roller Joint
- Check for tears and scuffing
- Clamp
- Always replace if removed
- Tensioning. Refer to Figure.
- Triple Roller Star with Rollers
The chamfer -arrow- faces the drive axle splines.
