1JL, 1ZD, 16" Brakes
- Brake Caliper
- Do not disconnect the brake hose when replacing a brake pad
- Removing and installing. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, PR 1JL, 1ZD
Replacing. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER, REPLACING, PR 1JL, 1ZD
- Removing and installing. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER PISTON/PROTECTIVE CAP/GASKET, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
- Bleeder Screw
- 10 Nm
- Before installing, thinly coat with Assembly Paste :G 052 150 A2 .
- Protective Cap

Replace damaged bolts.
Clean bolts before reusing.
Always replace self-locking bolts.

- Clean any corrosion from the sealing surface on the brake caliperNOTE:
For brake caliper from Conti 17" brakes, tightening specification 45 Nm
- Brake Hose
- Make sure it is in the installation positionWARNING:
- Do not damage the brake hose and brake line.
- Do not bend the brake line past the specified form.
- A damaged brake hose or a damaged or bent brake line must be replaced.
- Make sure it is in the installation position

- To the brake hose: 14 NmWARNING:
- Do not damage the brake hose and brake line.
- Do not bend the brake line past the specified form.
- A damaged brake hose or a damaged or bent brake line must be replaced.

- Replace if damaged

- For the brake line/hose

- 8 NmNOTE:
Replace damaged bolts.
Clean bolts before reusing.
Always replace self-locking bolts.

- Brake Shield
- Removing and installing. Refer to BRAKE SHIELD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, PR 1JL, 1ZD
- Brake RotorWARNING:
If a brake rotor is damaged or worn, check the other brake rotors for damage and wear.
- Refer to BRAKE ROTOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, PR 1JL, 1ZD CAUTION:
Do not use excessive force to separate the brake rotor from the wheel hub. Use rust remover, if necessary, otherwise the brake rotor could be damaged.
-- Check the wear specification of the brake rotors. Refer to BRAKES TECHNICAL DATA, FRONT BRAKES .

Always replace self-locking bolts.
Replace damaged bolts.
Clean bolts before reusing.

- Brake Carrier
- Thinly coat the contact surfaces for the brake pads with Lithium Grease :G 052 150 A2
- Brake Pads
- Always replace on both axles.
- With right front brake pad wear sensor
- With adequate wear, the warning lamp in the instrument cluster lights
- Removing and installing. Refer to BRAKE PADS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, PR 1JL, 1ZD NOTE:
Coat the brake pad plates with grease.
Coat the guide pin with lithium grease.
- Trim with Emblem
- Equipment levels
- Grommet
- For equipment levels with trim
Installation Position of the Brake Pads.
Meaning of the letters -arrows- :
H - Left and Right Outer Brake Pad
X - Left Inner Brake Pad
Y - Right Inner Brake Pad
Coat the brake pad plates with grease.
Coat the guide pin with lithium grease.
