Brake Master Cylinder, Removing And Installing: Installing

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:

WARNING:
  • Do not damage the brake hose and brake line.
  • Do not bend the brake line past the specified form.
  • A damaged brake hose or a damaged or bent brake line must be replaced.
NOTE:

Replace the nuts after removing.

Replace the gasket between the master brake cylinder and the brake booster.

CAUTION:

Risk of destroying the brake booster.

  • Do not let any brake fluid run into the brake booster.

-- When inserting the brake master cylinder, make sure the push rod is seated correctly in the brake booster.

-- Install the brake fluid reservoir. Refer to BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

WARNING:

Risk of accident!

  • Make sure the brakes are working correctly before driving the vehicle for the first time.
