Rain/Light Recognition Sensor -G397-, REPLACING: Installing

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:

CAUTION:

Risk of damaging the humidity sensor.

  • The humidity sensor is very sensitive and must not be damaged.

-- Gently press the grip surfaces -arrows- on the protective cap -2- together and remove from the sensor -1-.

NOTE:

To avoid contaminating the silicone pad, remove the protective cap just before installing it.

-- Insert the sensor -4- into the mount -2-.

CAUTION:

The Rain/Light Recognition Sensor -G397- must not have any embedded objects or bubbles between it and the windshield so that it functions correctly.

-- Press on the clips -1 and 5- until they audibly engage.

-- Connect the connector -3-.

-- After replacing the rain/light recognition sensor, it must be re-coded in "Guided Functions" mode using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
